Short-haired pups still shed and smell. This shine routine keeps coats sleek without over-bathing or irritating skin.
Weekly Exfoliation Pass
Swap traditional brushes for rubber curry gloves.
- Work in circles to loosen dander, then wipe with a damp microfiber cloth.
- Add a spritz of coat conditioner to reduce static during winter.
- Finish with a chamois cloth to boost shine.
Bath & Blow Strategy
Sensitive skin? Stretch baths to every 6 weeks and rely on wipes in between.
Use lukewarm water, suds twice, and follow with a light silicone-free conditioner. Towel dry, then use a low blower to push loose undercoat out.
Nutrition & Seasonal Support
Shine starts inside.
- Add fish oil (per vet guidance) to reduce flaking.
- Brush daily during spring/fall coat blow to capture undercoat.
- Use sun-safe tees for white or thin-coated dogs to prevent burns.
