Spot the Difference

Tool Safety
Use light pressure with rakes to avoid scratching skin. For mats, hold fur above the knot to shield the skin and work slowly from tips inward.
When to Shave
If mats are tighter than felt or cover more than 30% of the body, it’s safer to clip and start fresh.
Document mat-prone areas so you can brush them daily going forward.
